Browema's jack-up barge served as accommodation for the workers and as the 'entrance' to the work site for the conservation of the harbour lights at Hoek van Holland.
The jack-up platform was positioned by the green port light, also known as the mushroom. From the jack-up barge, the workmen could safely reach the mushroom. The draught at the red mushroom was too great, making the use of a jack-up barge impossible. The workmen were dropped off by helicopter, but the use of Browema's jack-up platform reduced the number of helicopter flights by fifty per cent.
